It is funny to see these expressions elevated like this. I live in France and I am French, even for me some are so weird sometimes, but quite funny. Some even that I have never spoken and it is a good thing.

It is for many a visual and intellectual play of words. A catchy and intentional (provocation) association to capture attention

I will look out for your next batch ✨️

If you like play of words check out my French Substack: https://open.substack.com/pub/penseespassivolatiles?utm_source=share&utm_medium=android&r=anzvh

I will resume writing there next year.

We could do a fun collaboration with these plays of words expressing more than the ears can grasp, what do you think?

Every language has its quirky sayings. I'm trying to track down 'so much thunder for a little omlette' after a monk who broke Lent and the monastry was struck by lightning. French or possibly Spanish.

I love that you raise the salient point, that there had to be a time when throwing granny into the nettles was a known activity!

OK, I had to go ona little search for the ass-lining noodles. I think perhaps it refers back to the extravagance of "noodle-like" decoration. Even his ass is lined with noodles! (Like say...ummm...a golden toilet?!)

This is hysterical: To have your ass edged with noodles! And the visual of one’s ass wedged with noodles makes it difficult to tie in the extreme luck, but the idea is making my Thursday! 😎

I do like the sound of French. I was lucky as I was brought up in French speaking Switzerland and have lived in France for 30 years. But I prefer the musicak sound of Italian!

I love these!! I am a member of a team (what kind & where of no importance) but our computer guy is French. We are friend-ish. This has given us more conversation than anything in the almost 7 years we have known each other!! Thank you!! 😊

What a great compilation, Remy. I've only ever heard "Pisser dans un violon" et "Faut pas pousser mémé dans les orties” but not in a long time. Looking forward to learning more quirky expressions!
