The point about Reflection and its cause made me think of you Remy yesterday. I'll explain: I went to see The Motive and The Cue at the theatre which is based on the production of Hamlet by Sir John Gielgud with Richard Burton as the lead. Apparently rehearsals were a train crash and the play focuses on that until one day Gielgud and Burton put aside their creative differences and reflect on what they do what they do. What do they insist on performing something that has been performed a thousand times? What difference does it make? What difference can they make? And it's in that moment of reflection that they find what they can both bring to this new production. And it brought to mind the previous post you did on the stages of creation. One can talk about something many times, what difference does it make to discuss it again? Except it does, because everyone will have a different take and that's what people will remember them for.

Wonderful, an inventive twist on the basic science experiment. Moving beyond conclusion to prescription.

Really enjoyed this piece.

"Name: Achievement. Age: As satisfying as it is brief.”

That sums up the few moments of success I’ve experienced. The brevity of achievement is probably a reason people feel so empty after grinding for something. If only success lasted as long as the pain it takes to get it...

Agreed

From the perspective of 69; embrase and cherish those brief fleeting moments of success. They will keep you warm in your old age. You will miss the grinding, the whole process of creation. It’s addictive.

This was NOT the video I meant to send. But I like it because his entire creative life was built around his flow or his strengths. Even as a music arranger, Prince maintained a specific system that worked for him. I’ll post the work ethic video as soon as I find it.

I love this and will return to it often. Slightly off topic…have you seen the YouTube video about Prince’s work ethic. It was fascinating.

Thanks Kerra! No I haven't seen the vid, send it over
